Thank you to everyone who came to support SAYAW. It was a great success. Special thanks to Sir Edwin Duero, Herbert Alvarez and Catherine Araneta for their extensive knowledge in our culture and sharing it with us over the last three days. Our appreciation also extends out to Patrick Alcedo for allowing us to screen his documentary
There is so much to learn about our heritage and it is our job to cultivate it. PAMANA will ensure the continuation of opportunities like SAYAW and hope to get more and more people involved!

Patrick Alcedo, a specialist in Southeast Asian dance from York University will be screening his documentary "Ati-atihan Lives" for the Canadian Society for Dance Studies on Sunday, June 3 from 10:30 to 11:30. Ati-Atihan is a festival held every January in honour of the Santo Nino. The conference is taking place at UQAM's Dance Pavilion, 840, rue Cherrier (K-R380).

Note: Mr. Alcedo was actually part of the original roster for PAMANA's SAYAW conference but can no longer attend after receiving a summer research grant.

A unique opportunity will unfold from July 6-7-8. Join PAMANA and other members of the Filipino community on this 3-day conference and workshop to expand our knowledge of Philippine folk dance and culture.
