Stage Productions.
PAMANA is not only recognized for it’s synchronized technique and authentic costumes. PAMANA also separates themselves from other groups by taking Philippine folk dance to another level of stage production. Since the group’s founding in 2005, PAMANA has produced three stage productions that combine creative storytelling and traditional folk dance.
The dancers and the production team prepare months in advance to develop a storykeeping in mind of the dances to be performed without obstructing their meaning when piecing it all together. A definite challenge. Dances and other Filipino traditions, such as a cotillion or a wedding, are chosen to be part of the story. A valuable lesson discovered by the main character and connection to their Filipino heritage wraps up the story leaving many audience members with multiple sentiments of the motherland they left behind and appreciation of the culture they carried with them.
